How to install Windows 8 Developer Preview

Posted on 05 April 2012

System requirements for this new Windows are:

  •          1 GHz or better
  •          1 GB RAM (2GB for 64bit version)
  •          16 GB free on HDD (20 GB for 64 bit version)
  •          driver DirectX 9 graphics with WDDM 1.0 or higher
As you can see the Windows requirements are not excessive. (similar to those for Windows 7). After downloading the ISO image with Windows 8:01 or burn a DVD onto a USB stick (only works with software from Microsoft) enter the BIOS set to boot from DVD or USB stick.

1. Insert the DVD with Windows 8 in optical drive and restart the PC.

2. When the message “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD” in the Setup saintre press any key

3. Select the language.

4. Accept the license terms.

5. Now you got to step in where you need to create partitions. (If you have a HDD or less 30 GB I recommend leaving only one partition).

6. Now waiting to copy files from DVD / USB stick in HDD. Eventually the PC will reboot several times.

7. We have to accept again terms and conditions.

8. Write a name, for example: Home, PC, etc. Then click next.

9. Because Windows 8 is a dual operating system it comes with a double authentication, namely:

Locally – which create a username
Web mode – which can use a Windows Live account

Because when creating login account does not have the possibility to create a PPPoE connection type who uses this mode will be using local authentication mode.

10. Create user and if you want you can put a password.

If you followed the above steps correctly, Windows 8 should be ready for use.
